About
Indigo Strudwicke, aka Indy Scarletti, is a PhD researcher in science communication for the public good and occasional digital artist working at the interfaces of science, policy, story and society.
Indy was formerly a policy analyst at the Australian Academy of Science and the recipient of the 2021 University Medal at the Australian National University for her Honours research in global science discourse at the Australian National University. Her research focus lies in how we can contextualise science and technology to better align them with purposeful solutions to global challenges. In her PhD she is particularly interested in how we imagine our technologically entwined futures, and in methods we can use to richly explore societal impacts through collaborative storytelling.
In 2023 she was announced as a Westpac Future Leader Scholar and now serves on the National Executive for the W100 Network alumni group. She is also a member of the UNESCO Chair in Science Communication for the Public Good.
Indy writes about her life while doing a PhD and shares book reviews in her newsletter two of three.

Why the two names?
Once upon a time Indy Scarletti (creative pursuits) were separate from Indigo Strudwicke (professional pursuits). The lines between these are becoming increasingly blurred, but Indy still exists under both names all over the internet.
